shortly before his death, i saw a clip entitled “Bill Russert is Oberman’s Poodle” on youtube. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSrpnwiM45A). It was primary to nbc and oberman in critique, but the smear against Russert really stuck with me. (oberman does deserve as much scrutiny as he gets, maybe more.) “i feel sorry for tim russert… he’s essentially keith obermann’s poodle.” the clip is good and ironic with how catty they try to be, but fail.
anyway, i tried to look up some fox resources (beyond the status quo pandering that weekend) and criticism of russert leading up to his passing. dont worry, its all over the place. however, theres a straightforward one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKrzG31P80w) that really pulls it together (this clip is 3 min, theres also an 8:10 version) into one oreilly-coherent version (more screaming and anger).
its always amazing to watch either back-pedaling or outright avoidance (ie, laura ingram filling in that friday for the factor’s tribute). i was really amazed when i found out you had to pay to read o’reillys blog. thats some bs. i guess its a good way to keep flamers off the site. i had hoped to hear anything he had to say, maybe i was seeking vitriole; maybe seeking inspiration to suck my teeth. either way, im not giving that guy 5$ when i could get a monthly trial subscription to some porn site instead.
